Uber reduced the minimum base fare, minimum fare and per km fare too. Over all it reduced on average 15% price cut. Which is a good news for Uber riders but may be bad news for Uber drivers.

Uber claims this price cut will attract more riders to the Uber system and it will help them compete with OLA rides but drivers have to work more , have to take more number of rides to meet the daily earning goal.

I feel the same trend of price cut will be followed in other Indian cities as well, but only time will tell us and only "DATA" will tell Uber to do price cut. Uber used to analyse its data such as dead-hours for driers, low demand hours for riders, low pickup areas, high pickup areas, based upon several other data and using complex algorithms they decide to cut or increase the price.

Price cut attracts more riders demand hence they may surge the price to get more earning per ride on high demand areas and time. I feel Drivers will not be happy about this because no driver want to make more rides for same or just a little more earning.

Uber is facing protests and getting constant indications for possible strike before super-bowl event but uber is keeping its fares low in the interest of customers and drivers (as they say drivers will earn more.)
